On this date March 27, 1972, the fifth album by The Partridge Family “Shopping Bag” was released on Bell Records. It was produced by Wes Farrell. The album entered Billboard’s Top LP’s chart in late March, peaking at no. 18 in late April. The album remained in the Top 200 for 17 weeks and was certified gold. There were two singles released from the album: “It’s One of Those Nights (Yes Love)” (#20) and “Am I Losing You” (#59) It was recorded at Western Recorders in Los Angeles. Farrell arranged the rhythm tracks, and Mike Melvoin arranged the strings and horns. Personnel on the recording was Hal Blaine (drums), Mike Melvoin (keyboards), Dennis Budimir (guitar), Louie Shelton (guitar), Larry Carlton (guitar), Tommy Tedesco (guitar) and Max Bennett (bass).
